Gmail POP No Longer Supported January 2026

Effective January 2026, Google is discontinuing the Gmail feature that allows Gmail’s web interface to fetch mail from third-party email accounts using POP (“Check mail from other accounts”). This change affects users who relied on Gmail.com to automatically pull email via POP from external accounts into a single/personal Gmail inbox.
Existing messages already imported into Gmail remain in your Gmail mailbox, but new incoming emails from external accounts will no longer be automatically fetched via POP.

With this POP deprecation taking effect, you will need to choose a replacement method for viewing your email, please see below for some different options:

You willl need to know the email address password to use each of the following options, you can test your password by trying to login to your webmail (detailed below), if you are unable to confirm the password please see the following on how change your email password: How do I change my email account password

Web-Based Options

(Recommended) Use Your Webmail Interface Directly

Generally, webmail can be accessed by going to a URL https://YourDoamin.ie/webmail (replacing "YourDomain.ie" with your actual domain name)
Please see the following for more information regarding how to access webmail, please see: How can I access my email from any computer

(Not Recommended) Set Up Email Forwarding

Forwarded messages may be filtered differently and could be marked as spam unless properly authenticated (SPF/DKIM/DMARC).
Please see the following on how to add a filter to "Allow" list your email in Gmail: https://support.google.com/a/answer/2368132
Please see the following for more information regarding setting up an email forwarder: How to I set up an email forwarder on my hosting account
