How do I set up my email on my Android phone?

To set up an email account on your Android phone, please see the following steps.

Please note that you will first need to have the email address itself created (instructions here if not). If you have the address created but do not know your current email password, please visit this link for instructions on how to reset it.

 

  1. Go to Settings and tap on Accounts and backup
  2. Tap on Accounts
  3. Tap on Add Account > Choose Email
  4. Choose “Other”
  5. Enter in your email address and password
  6. Tap Manual setup > IMAP Account

Under the “Account” section:

  1. Email address: Full email address
  2. Username: Full email address
  3. Password: Email address password

Under the “Incoming server” section:

 

  1. IMAP Server = servers hostname* (in the form ‘LHxx.dnsireland.com’)
    – Security type: SSL (Accept all certificates)
    – Port: 993
    – IMAP path prefix: leave blank
  2. SMTP server = servers hostname* (in the form ‘LHxx.dnsireland.com’)
    – Security type: SSL (Accept all certificates)
    – Port: 465
  3. Require sign-in: ticked
  4. Username: Full email address
  5. Password: Email password
