How do I allow remote access to my MySQL database?

To allow remote access to your database, you will need to do this via the cPanel control panel.

  1. Log in to your LetsHost client area and click on Services > My Services
  2. You will see your products/services listed here. Click on Active beside your hosting package
  3. On the menu on the left, click on Login to cPanel
  4. Once logged in to your cPanel control panel, navigate to the "Remote Database Access" option under the Databases section
  5. Fill in the IP address of the location you wish to access from, or use % to allow remote access from anywhere (we would recommend only using this temporarily). You can access your own IP address from https://ip.letshost.ie
  6. Click Add Host

If you have any questions on the above, please do not hesitate to 'Open a Ticket' and we will be happy to advise further.
